Srinagar, Dec 8 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday promised to bring around development in Jammu and Kashmir and invoked former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee's concepts of communal harmony, humanity and democracy as he said that the problems of the natives here are his own troubles.

"I come here to share your sorrows and it is my responsibility to do your work.
Vajpayeeji started the good work and I am committed to do his work. It is my duty to carry forward and fulfill his dreams of Insaniyat, Kashmiriyat and Jamhooriyat (democracy) which are the three pillars that can turn around Kashmir on the path of development," Modi said in his first election rally at SK Stadium Srinagar.

"We lost Army personnel, police and innocent people in the Valley and it is a big hole in our society and we have to fill it. When we share sorrows, the sadness is reduced. As your Pradhan Sevak, your pains, troubles are mine," Modi asserted adding that he is the first PM who visit Kashmir five times.

Modi, who came to Srinagar, to campaign for the ongoing Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir also also took a dig at the state government.

"When flood hit Kashmir, the state government was in deep sleep and I sanctioned 1000 crore," said he.

He attacked the“all pervasive corruption that prevailed under successive governments of “Congress, father-son and father-daughter” in the last 30 years and asked the people to give him “one chance” to bring development.

"Father, leave them give me one chance, I will change all the things and I will
made everything in reality," the PM urged.

He said he  wants to change the scenario of education in the state.

The Prime Minister said tourism is one of the biggest sectors for employment and that "There are so many opportunities for tourism. This is a sector that is
growing at a very quick pace."
