'Won with love': Rahul Gandhi on Congress' Karnataka triumph

| @indiablooms | May 13, 2023, at 08:34 pm

New Delhi/IBNS: Congress top leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said his party won the Karnataka assembly elections with "love" reacting to the outfit's comfortable victory over the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the south Indian state.

"The Congress won the elections with love. We have been able to stop hatred and spread love in Karnataka," said a confident Rahul Gandhi speaking to the reporters.

The beleaguered Congress is all set to form the next government in Karnataka giving a jolt to the country's ruling BJP exactly a year ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections.

The results for the May 10 elections indicate the Congress is comfortably returning to power driving away a possibility of the grand old party tying up with the JDS to cobble up the numbers in case of a hung assembly.

As per the latest poll results trends, the Congress is leading in 138 seats, 25 more than the majority mark 113.

The BJP, which had failed to get the majority even in the 2018 elections, ended up winning only 62 seats, leaving 20 for the JDS and 4 for Others.
