West Bengal: TMC MP Dibyendu Adhikari faces road mishap, escapes unhurt

Kolkata, Apr 30 (IBNS): Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP from Tamluk Lok Sabha constituency, Dibyendu Adhikari, on Saturday late night escaped injury after his car was hit by a speeding truck at Chandipur area in West Bengal's East Medinipur district, reports said.

According to reports, an over-speeding truck suddenly lost its control and hit the car of state Transport Minister Subhendu Adhikari's brother, Dibyendu Adhikari, from behind on Digha-Mecheda highway (NH-116B) at around 11pm. while the local MP was returning to Contai (Kanthi) from Nandakumar.

Police from Chandipur Police Station rushed to the scene and rescued the TMC leader and his co-passengers unhurt from the car.

However, after seizing the truck and arresting its driver, who was allegedly drunk while driving, local police have started probe into the matter.
