New Delhi, Apr 20 (IBNS) : After the Supreme Court restored criminal cases against veteran leaders in connection with the Babri Masjid demolition case, BJP President Amit Shah has reportedly reassured LK Advani that "the party is with you".

According to NDTV reports,  Shah telephoned  Advani after finalising the party's strategy for handling the situation in the wake of the top court restored criminal conspiracy cases and put to trial top  BJP leaders, including Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Union Minister  Uma Bharti and Vinay Katiyar.

So far, these BJP leaders were being tried for making inflammatory  speeches that allegedly  instigated a mob to pull down the Babri mosque in Ayodhya in 1992.

The charges against the BJP leaders, brought by the CBI, had been blocked by the Allahabad High Court.

The Supreme Court ruled in favour of the investigating agency and transferred the leaders' trial to a Lucknow court where about 20 people are accused of the  destruction of the mosque. Judges today ordered daily hearings and said a verdict must be delivered within two years.
