WB CID busts sleaze racket near Kolkata, 6 arrested

Kolkata, Jun 15 (IBNS): Acting on a tip off, a team of West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Thursday night carried out raid at a hotel in Salt Lake Sector II area and busted a sleaze racket, officials said.

According to reports, CID officials searched Green Shelter Guest House at Sector-II area under Bidhannagar East Police Station limits in Kolkata's satellite city Salt Lake, where a sleaze racket was reportedly being run, and rescued six women, including two minor girls, from the premise.

Six persons, including a female trafficker and the manager cum pimp of the hotel, were arrested for their involvement with the racket.

"Hotel manager cum pimp Sandip Mishra (22), three employees of the hotel- Raju Das (23), Tuhin Banerjee (19) and Babu Sona Majhi alias Babu (31), and two immoral human traffickers, Tanmoy Saha alias Paltu (30) and Krishna Debnath (woman-37), were held during the raid," a senior CID official told IBNS.

Besides CID, local police have started parallel investigation into the case, reports said.
