Vasco Da Gama Express: At least 3 dead as train derails in UP

Allahabad, Nov 24 (IBNS): At least three people were killed and seven others sustained injuries after the Patna bound Vasco Da Gama Express derailed near Manikpur Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh, reports said.

The incident took place on Friday at around 4:20 am.

Thirteen coaches of the train, Vasco Da Gama-Patna Express, were derailed.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakhs each to the family of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh for those who've sustained serious injuries.
