Two youths were feared drowned after they slipped into Renuka river while taking selfie from a rock in the Obra area of Sonbhadra district in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, police sources said.

Police sources said that Mukesh (25), Ankit Kumar 16) and Ashutosh had gone to take a stroll near a newly constructed bridge on Renuka river.

"During this they climbed on the top of a rock to take a selfie and slipped," they said.

Police sources said that while Ashutosh somehow managed to swim to safety, Mukesh and Ankit went missing.

"Efforts are being made to trace the two with the help of the divers," they said.
