Uttar Pradesh: Minor girl killed by youth in Maharajganj for allegedly touching cycle seat

A five-year-old girl was killed by a youth allegedly for touching the seat of a cycle in Nichlaul area of Maharajganj district here in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, a police sources said here.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Aatish Kumar Singh said that the incident took place in Ramchandrahi Tola where Deepak slit the throat of the victim Rimjhim for touching the seat of his cycle.

"Initially Deepak shooed away the girl, but when she again touched his cycle he slit her throat with a sharp-edged weapon," he said.

He said that the girl died on the spot.

"The accused Deepak has been arrested and further legal action is being taken," he said.
