Two suspected jehadis nabbed in Assam

Guwahati, July 18 (IBNS) : Security forces on Monday apprehended two suspected jehadis from Assam’s Chirang district, officials said.

According to the reports, following a tip-off, Chirang police had launched operation at Chapaguri Chariali  area under Dhaligaon police station and nabbed the jehadi duo.

The nabbed jehadis were identified as Nur Islam mandal and Jaher Ali.

Assam police ADGP Dr LR Bisnoi said that, both had participated in the jehadi training in Daukhanagar area.

“Nur Islam was personally recruited by Bura Bhai alias Ashiq,” Dr Bisnoi said.

Security forces have apprehended 54 jehadis from Lower Assam in past two years.
