New Delhi, July 29 (IBNS): A top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative, Abdul Subhan (42), was arrested by the Delhi Police’s special cell, police said.

Subhan, a prime motivator who used to conduct recruitment on behalf of LeT “brain washing” the youths from Rajasthan, Haryana and Bihar, was arrested last week at the Sarai Kale Khan bus stand.

Sources said Abdul’s name surfaced during the interrogation of two suspects - Mohammad Shahid and Qari Rashid, both residents of Mewat district in Haryana.

Subhan had been arrested earlier for carrying an arms consignment of RDX, AK 56 rifles, pistols, detonators, timers and ammunition in a truck to Patan district in Gujarat.

He was subsequently sentenced by a court to 10 years jail term. He was released in 2010 from Sabarmati jail after completing eight years in prison due to his good behaviour.
