Three Karbi militants nabbed in Assam

Guwahati, May 3 (IBNS) : Security forces on Wednesday apprehended three militants belonging to United People's Liberation Army (UPLA) with arms and ammunition in Assam's Sivsagar district, officials said.

According to the reports, following intelligence input police launched an operation at Moran area in the oil rich upper Assam district and nabbed the militants including a woman cadre.

The nabbed militants were identified as Longri Teron, Bijoy Engti and Kangru Teronpi.


Security personnel had recovered a point 22 pistol, 7.62 mm pistol, 13 rounds live ammunition and other incriminating documents in possession from them.


The Karbi outfit group was formed in 2014 and the outfit is active in Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, Nagaon and Golaghat district.
