Ten-year ban on Aadhaar biomentric centre that leaked Dhoni's details

Ranchi/New Delhi, Mar 29 (IBNS): The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), on Wednesday blacklisted the centre that leaked cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Aadhaar receipt, according to media reports.

The Aadhaar centre has been banned for 10 years, reports said.

UIDAI CEO said that further inquiries are on.

A furious Sakshi Singh Rawat, wife of former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, had tweeted Union IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, following the leak of her husband's Aadhaar details on the web.

The incident took place on Tuesday.

The agency handling Aadhaar cards uploaded the information of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, prompting wife Sakshi to post an angry tweet.

"@rsprasad @CSCegov_ is there any privacy left ??? Information of adhaar card including application is made public property!#disappointed," her tweet read.

Prasad, who himself tweeted a picture of Dhoni receiving Aadhaar services, shot back with, "@SaakshiSRawat No it is not a public property. Does this Tweet divulge any personal information?"

Taking a step ahead, Mrs Dhoni pointed out about the form that was uploaded by the agency, prompting another tweet from the minister, who promised serious actions against the guilty.

"@SaakshiSRawat Thanks for bringing this to my notice. Sharing personal information is illegal. Serious action will be taken against this," Prasad's tweet read.

The controversy comes in midst of an alleged data breach pertaining to Aadhaar Card.
