Tejas Express to make inaugural run from Mumbai to Goa

Mumbai, May 22 (IBNS) : The Tejas Express, India's first semi-high speed fully airconditioned train, will make its first trip on Monday from Mumbai to Goa.

According to reports, the train will be flagged off by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu at 3 30 pm for the inaugural run.

The luxury train is expected to complete the journey in less than nine hours,  faster than the Janshatabdi.

The TEJAS Train The super fast train, which has a maximum speed of 200 kmph is equipped with  amenities like Wi-Fi, CCTV, fire and smoke detection facilities, tea and coffee vending machine, among others.

Inner view of Tejas trainThe fare for Tejas Express' executive class is Rs. 2,680 with food and Rs. 2,525 without. For the AC chair car, the fare is Rs. 1,280 with food and Rs. 1,155 without food.

The ticket fares will be cheaper than flights but 20 per cent higher than that of the Shatabdi Express.
