Surat twin blasts: SC acquits all accused

New Delhi, July 18 (IBNS): The Supreme Court on Friday quashed TADA court judgement and acquitted all the accused, who were convicted, in connection with the 1993 twin blasts in Surat.

The TADA court had sentenced all the 11 accused to imprisonment for up to 20 years.

In January 1993, twin blasts had rocked Surat which left one dead and 31 others injured.

While one blast occurred at a school in Varachha area, the other took place in Surat railway station.

The blast in  Varachha had left a school girl dead and 11 others injured.

Twenty people were injured in the other blast.
