New Delhi: A Delhi to Dubai-bound  SpiceJet flight landed at Jinnah International Airport in Pakistan's Karachi after an indicator light malfunctioned, a spokesperson of the airline said, adding that no emergency landing was required.

"On July 5, 2022, SpiceJet B737 aircraft operating flight SG-11 (Delhi - Dubai) was diverted to Karachi due to an indicator light malfunctioning. The aircraft landed safely in Karachi and passengers were safely disembarked. No emergency was declared and the aircraft made a normal landing," a SpiceJet spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said the flight crew noticed an unusual fuel quantity reduction from the left tank.

"They carried out relevant non normal checklist, however fuel quantity kept on decreasing. PIC decided to divert the aircraft to Karachi (KHI). Aircraft diverted in coordination with ATC and landed safely at KHI,” according to the spokesperson.

"There was no earlier report of any malfunction with the aircraft. Passengers have been served refreshments," a SpiceJet spokesperson said.

KARACHI, JUL 5 (UNI):- A SpiceJet flight with 150 passengers onboard on way to Dubai from Delhi made an emergency landing at Karachi Airport, Pakistan due to technical snag on Tuesday.

A replacement aircraft is being sent to Karachi that will take the passengers to Dubai, the airline said.

There were 150 passengers aboard and all were safe, the airline said.

After Tuesday's incident, aviation regulator DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) has started a probe into the matter.

This incident comes three days after a Delhi-Jabalpur SpiceJet flight made an emergency landing in Delhi due to smoke in the cabin.
