Sonia Gandhi appeals for calm in J&K

Srinagar, July 28 (IBNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Chief G A Mir called on Congress President Sonia Gandhi at her residence in New Delhi on Thursday and apprised her about the current unrest prevailing in the Valley.
n a statement here a JKPCC spokesman said, “Bothe the leaders discussed the socio political scenario obtaining in the State, besides many issues of public importance also came under discussion. G A Mir also apprised Madam Gandhi about the losses caused in the backdrop of the protests in the Valley.”
 
While expressing anguish over the loss of lives and grievous injuries caused to people, Sonia Gandhi appealed the people to shun the path of confrontation.
 
She appealed to all to maintain calm.
