Share challenges of local communities: Arunachal Pradesh Guv
People from diverse communities including Assamese, Bengali, Jain, Malayalee, Marwari and Punjabi led by B Dutta, DJ Bhattacharji, Kamal Jain, C Ramesan, Kamal Bajaj and Sukhwinder Singh were present in the meeting.
Chayanika Vaishast of Vivekananda Centre of Human Excellence also attended the meeting.
The governor exhorted them to maintain one’s distinct identity, culture and traditions and also concomitantly intermingle with the local communities.
He urged the representatives to strengthen oneself so as to strengthen the society where the communities are rendering their service.
“If we dream to make our country strong, we have to respect the people’s diversity as they are with equity. Share the challenges of the local communities,” Acharya said.
The governor said that, representatives should advise the people coming from other States to learn few basic words of local dialects in order to attach themselves more closely to the indigenous communities. This also helps in respecting their languages and traditions.
Acharya said that some benefit of their enrichment should go back to the local communities under ‘Citizen Social Responsibilities’ (CSR).
One needs to have the spirit to serve the Arunachali society and for this, any of the societies can adopt a Government School, orphanage or a hospital and if possible sponsor few underprivileged people and facilitate the illiterate to avail benefits under various schemes of State and Central Governments.
The governor urged upon the social leaders to be nodal agents of Central Government programmes and schemes, such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana so that the benefits reaches to every needy person.
He exhorted them to work towards ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ and against drug addiction.
Sharing the ‘New India’ vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the governor exhorted the organizations to join in pledging for ‘New India’ and express their commitment to take India to new heights of equality, development and prosperity by 2022, the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence.
He called upon each and every member to provide opportunities to the poor and reduce the burden of middle class to enable all to excel to their potential and aspiration.
The society representatives, while appreciating the Governor for his goodwill gesture, requested him for his initiative for the train service to South India, cultural exchange programmes and promotion of Yoga in bigger way.
