Shah slams Mamata on Saradha scam

| | Sep 08, 2014, at 02:41 am
Kolkata, Sept 7 (IBNS) BJP president Amit Shah on Sunday slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said her associates were involved in the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam.

Protesting against injustice, you had gone on fast when above 2,000 farmers had lost their land in Nandigram and Singur...More than 17 lakh people of Bengal have lost their deposits due to this Saradha scam. Why don't you (Mamata) feel like sitting on a fast against this scam? Because her own people were involved in it," Shah said here.

Shah made the remarks at a time when suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh has accused the West Bengal Chief Minister of having benefitted the most from the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam.

The Saradha Group that went bust last year left lakhs of depositors in a fix.

Saradha Group chief Sudipta Sen and Saradha Group director Debjani Mukherjee were arrested in April 2013 from Jammu and Kashmir. He was absconding sinceSaradha Group collapsed.  The duo is now in jail in the ponzi scam. Sen had claimed that he was blackmailed and used by politicians mainly from Banerjee's Trinamool Congress.

Shah attacked Banerjee and said  Bangladeshi infiltration has gone up by five times during her regime.

He said his BJP is ready to provide 'good governance' to the people of Bengal.

Shah said the people of West Bengal will show Mamata the 'way out in the 2016 Assembly polls'.
