Kolkata, Jul 15 (IBNS): A middle-aged school teacher was abducted in broad daylight on Friday in Kolkata, officials said.
According to reports, as many as four persons forcibly took Kalidhan Institution's assistant teacher Nandita Ghosh (52) inside a car in front of the school in Kolkata's Southern Avenue area. Principal of the school was informed and police were called in later.

However, six hours after the incident, police rescued the teacher from Sonarpur in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district. At least two suspects have been detained and are being interrogated.

"One school teacher was reportedly abducted from Southern Avenue area in Kolkata today around 6:40 am. We have rescued the teacher and detained two suspects. Suspects as well as the abducted teacher are being questioned. We have recorded eye-witnesses' accounts and are examining CCTV footage to get a clear idea of the incident," one senior official of Kolkata Police told IBNS.

Meanwhile, the teacher's family did not get any call, demanding ransom, from the kidnappers.
