SC to pronounce verdict on validity of Aadhaar card tomorrow

| @indiablooms | Sep 25, 2018, at 05:15 pm

New Delhi, Sept 25 (IBNS): The Supreme Court is all set to give its verdict on the constitutional validity of the Aadhaar card.

The court had reserved its verdict on the Aadhaar validity in May this month.

Led by a retired HC judge K Puttaswamy, a bench of petitioners had challenged the validity of the Aadhaar card.

The hearing in the case had started in January.

It continued for more than 30 days.

Interestingly, the Indian government had made Aadhaar card compulsory for receiving several services and welfare schemes.

The national identity card project has been challenged by critics for allegedly violating the constitution.
