Saradha: Matang Sinh sent to CBI custody

| | Feb 08, 2015, at 03:29 am
Kolkata, Feb 7 (IBNS) A local court on Saturday sent arrested former Union minister Matang Sinh to the CBI custody for five days.

Matang Sinh was arrested in Kolkata last Saturday in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam.

ACJM (in-charge) of Alipore court granted the five-day custody of the leader to the CBI even as the probe agency had sought for seven days custody.

The CBI had arrested Sinh after questioning him for more than seven hours.

The multi-crore scam left lakhs of depositors fleeced in West Bengal and triggered a political uproar.
