Ratan Tata travels from Mumbai to Pune to meet sick former employee

Mumbai/IBNS: Business tycoon Ratan Tata, who is highly revered for his ethics, integrity, and kind and noble views, once again had his golden heart and empathetic side on display when he recently travelled all the way from Mumbai to Pune to meet an ailing former employee.

Eighty three-year-old Tata travelled to Pune's Friends Society to see the former  employee who had been sick for the last two years, according to Linkedin post.

"Sir Ratan Tata (83) living legend, greatest businessman alive in India, visited the Friends Society in Pune to meet his ex-employee all the way from Mumbai who is ailing for the last 2 years. This is how legends are made of. No media, no bouncers only commitment towards loyal employees. There is a lot to learn for all entrepreneurs and businessmen that money is not everything. All that matters is being a great human being. Hats off, Sir!! I bow my head in respect," Yogesh Desai said in his post on LinkedIn.

The post went viral in no time with many social media users praising Tata for the heartwarming gesture.

Ratan Tata has often revealed his concern for his employees and how he had tried understand and resolve their difficulties while still a new entrant.

Speaking at the Stanford Social Innovation Review, Tata had said, "Working on the shop floor as a young man, I saw close up the misery and hardship of the less fortunate and thought about how one makes a difference to improve lives. As I moved up through the departments and divisions, I continued to see hardship and had more opportunity to do something about it."

At 83, Tata continues to be the chairman of Tata Trusts which resolves child malnutrition by targeting maternal health and poverty.
