New Delhi/UNI: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi Thursday launched a scathing attack on the K Chandrashekar Rao-led Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) saying the state has suffered extreme due to "misgovernance" of the party in the last eight years of its tenure.

Citing that India’s youngest state, Telangana was born out of people's aspirations for a better future, the Wayanad MP in a tweet wrote, "In the last 8 years, Telangana has suffered extreme misgovernance by TRS."

The former Congress president also reiterated his party's commitment to build Telangana as a 'model state'.

"On Telangana Formation Day, I want to reaffirm Congress’ commitment to building a glorious Telangana, a model state focused on bringing prosperity especially to farmers, workers, poor and common people," he said while extending his warm wishes to the people of Telangana on the occasion.

The Congress MP further said, "I feel proud that the Congress party and Sonia Gandhi ji listened to the people’s voice and worked selflessly towards fulfilling the dream of Telangana."
