Punjab: 6 injured in clash between Youth Cong & BJP workers in Ludhiana

Ludhiana/UNI: At least six people were injured in a clash between the activists of Youth Congress and BJP in the city on Saturday.

The clash took place when members of the Youth Congress, led by its district wing chief Yogesh Handa, raised slogans against the BJP and tried to gherao the BJP office over rising prices of fuel and LPG.

Tension grew in the area when BJP workers also raised slogans against the Congress government.

Later, the workers of both the political parties threw stones and bricks at each other, injuring at least six people.

Police reached the spot and controlled the situation.

ADCP Pragya Jain said that police have launched an investigation and will take action.

Leaders of both the parties blamed each other for the clash.

Meanwhile, Punjab BJP chief Ashwani Sharma visited a local hospital to enquire about the health of injured party workers.
