Punjab: 3 killed, 2 injured in mishap

Phagwara/UNI: Three devotees, including a woman from Dera Radha Swami Satsang, were killed and two others sustained serious injuries when a speeding Swift car hit them near the Dera in Village Bandhian, near Banga, the police sources said on Monday.

DSP Sarwan Singh Bal on Monday said that the devotees were coming out of the Dera after Satsang when the car coming from the Phagwara side hit them on Sunday evening.

The deceased were identified as Amar Nath of Village Gosla, Bhupinder Singh, and Sonu Bala of Banga.

The injured Ankita (9) and Avtar Chand were admitted to Banga Hospital.

He said the police have arrested the car driver, Tersem Singh, of village Dhudha near Zirakpur and impounded the car.

The bodies of the deceased were handed over to their families after the post-mortem.
