Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomes Jordan's King Abdullah II to Hyderabad House

New Delhi, Mar 1 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday welcomed Jordan's King Abdullah II to the Hyderabad House ahead of the bilateral talks. 

Bilateral talks between the two leaders will be held soon.

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted: "Reinvigorating traditionally close and cordial ties! PM @narendramodi warmly welcomes His Majesty @KingAbdullahII Ibn Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at the Hyderabad House ahead of the bilateral talks."

 

Modi and the King attended the conference on 'Islamic Heritage: Promoting Understanding and Moderation' here.

Sending a strong message against terrorism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said people who attack humanity in the name of a religion are actually hurting the religion itself.

Modi said: "People who attack humanity in the name of religion are failing to understand that the biggest casualty of their attacks is the very religion itself."

He stressed on the importance of youth learning modern science and technology.

"Together we can fight terrorism," Modi said.

Modi addressed at a conference on 'Islamic Heritage: Promoting Understanding and Moderation' and highlighted the issue that India has embraced many religions over the years.

He said all religions have flourished in this nation.

Modi addressed a conference which was attended by Jordan's King Abdullah II.

The Kings is currently visiting India.

"Be it Buddha or Mahatma Gandhi, the fragrance of peace and love has spread across the world from our nation-India." Modi said in the conference.

He said: "Every religion found its life in India."

He said: "Indian democracy is a celebration of our age old plurality."

He said from Holi to Ramzan, countrymen celebrate all festivals in India as the nation stands as a symbol of 'unity in diversity'.
