Prime Minister Narendra Modi, French President Emmanuel Macron inaugurate solar power plant in Uttar Pradesh

Varanasi, Mar 12 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President  Emmanuel Macron on Monday inaugurated a solar power plant in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur area.


The French President earlier in the day reached Varanasi city in Uttar Pradesh.

Modi reached Varanasi and he was welcomed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanth and several other officials.

In Varanasi, Modi and Macron visited the Deen Dayal Hastkala Sankul.

"PM @narendramodi and President of France, @EmmanuelMacron at the Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hastkala Sankul - a trade facilitation centre for handicrafts in Varanasi - a platform for artisans and weavers to showcase their skills to the world," tweeted MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar.

Making the trip memorable, Modi and the French leader joined in a boat ride along the Ghats of Ganga river in Varanasi.

Prime Minister Modi will host a lunch in honour of the French President.

The French President arrived in India on Friday.
