President of India’s message on the eve of Independence Day of Finland

New Delhi, Dec 5 (IBNS): President of India Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of Finland on the eve of their Independence Day (Dec 6, 2016).

In a message to the President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö,  the President has said, “On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, I have pleasure in extending warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency and to the people of the Republic of Finland on the occasion of your Independence Day.

Our two nations share warm and cordial relations. The visit of the Prime Minister of Finland, H.E. Mr. Juha Sipila for the ‘Make in India’ Week in Mumbai in February this year has contributed to the strengthening of our economic cooperation. It is my firm belief that through enhancing our mutual understanding and engagement, the bilateral ties between our countries will grow stronger in the years ahead for the benefit for our two peoples.

I would also like to take this opportunity to convey my best wishes for Your Excellency’s good health and success and for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the Republic of Finland."
