President of India inaugurates new academic block of IKRDC

Kirnahar, Oct 5 (IBNS): President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the new academic block of Intensive Khadi & Rural Development Centre (IKRDC) in memory of his wife, late Suvra Mukherjee on Sunday at Kirnahar in West Bengal.

Speaking on the occasion, the President said that majority of our population will increasingly be in the working age group in the coming years.

He said to tap this demographic dividend and to bridge the demand-supply gap in the skilled workforce, it is essential to equip our youth with necessary skills through proper training of good quality.

He stated that the new academic block of IKRDC would help contribute in providing training to a larger number of people in the area.

Apart from the importance of providing training, the President also stressed on the need for interaction with industry and establishing linkages with the market and local institutions,Mukherjee said.
