New Delhi, Aug 9 (IBNS) President of India Pranab Mukherjee hosted an 'At Home' reception for freedom fighters on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the Quit India Movement on Saturday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here.

On the occasion, the President honoured and felicitated freedom fighters from across the country.

Each of the freedom fighters was gifted a mobile phone with a personal message from the President.

In his message, the President said, “The mobile phone has become a symbol of India’s rapid progress on the digital pathway. It connects us to our near and dear ones and to every corner of the world."

"I hope, this small gift will bring you joy as you keep in touch with family and friends, through many happy conversations in the coming days. I wish you the very best of health and a long life," he said.
