PM Modi's remark on Congress' BK Hariprasad in Rajya Sabha expunged

New Delhi, Aug 10 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remark on Congress leader BK Hariprasad in Rajya Sabha has been expunged or removed from the record of the parliament, media reports said.

Modi made the comment after National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-led  government candidate Harivansh Narayan Singh won the Deputy Chairman election by defeating Opposition candidate Hariprasad on Thursday.

The PM had said the names of both the candidates contain word "Hari" but Hariprasad has "BK" (which in Hindi means "sold") unlike Harivansh.

The comment had infuriated the Congress, the principal opposition party in the country.

Harivansh, who is also a journalist, became the first non-Congress man to assume the Deputy Chairman's post in 41 years' time.
