PM Modi meets Hasina, Rajapaksa

New York, Sept 27 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met leaders of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at the sidelines of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly here.

Modi held talks with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

This was Modi's first -ever meeting with Hasina since becoming the Prime Minister of India.

MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin tweeted: "India-SriLanka leaders meet in New York. "

"India-Bangladesh Prime Ministers meet for 1st time in New York," he said.

Modi earlier addressed the 69th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
