Parliament: LS adjourned for day as Opposition continues protest over Pegasus snooping row, new farm bills

New Delhi/UNI: The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Friday amid ruckus by the Opposition over various issues, including Pegasus row and new farm bills.

As soon as the House reassembled after the first adjournment at 12 noon, several members of the Opposition parties entered the Well and started sloganeering over the Pegasus snooping row, new farm bills and other issues.

Kirit Solanki, who was in the Chair, made repeated requests to the Opposition members to return to their seats.

As the Opposition members did not pay heed to Dr Solanki's repeated requests, he adjourned the House for the day.

Earlier in the day, as soon as the House assembled at 11 am, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla extended his wishes to the Indian sportspersons who will be participating in the Tokyo Olympics.

When the Question Hour commenced, the Opposition Members entered the Well of the House and started sloganeering over the Pegasus snooping row, new farm bills and other issues.

Many Opposition members were also carrying placards.

irla made repeated requests to the Opposition members to return to their seats and said that the country wants to know about the COVID vaccines.

'Please follow COVID-appropriate behaviour and please go back to your seats,' Birla said, adding that he would give the Opposition Members an opportunity to raise their issues.

Amid the din, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandviya while replying to a Question on global tenders for procurement of Corona vaccines, appealed to the opposition not to politicise COVID-19 vaccination matter.

The Minister replied to a Question on global tenders for procurement of Corona vaccines and said, ' There should be no politics on this issue.'

As the Opposition members did not pay heed to Birla's repeated requests, he adjourned the House till 12 noon.
