Omar will not celebrate Eid with gaiety

| | Oct 04, 2014, at 11:50 pm
Srinagar, Oct 4 (IBNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said he will celebrate Eid with highest simplicity observing no gaiety and joy for the plight of lakhs of people affected by the devastating flood in his state, which claimed several human lives and inflicting losses to the economy as well as damaging property of wide-ranging nature.
Recent flood fury left hundreds dead and damaged crores of property in Kashmir's Summer Capital Srinagar.

According to official statement issued here on Friday afternoon, Omar asked his supporters and well wishers to remain in their areas and share Eid with flood sufferers by extending support of all kinds.

He also advises the workers and other people not to visit his residence for Eid greetings.

"People should remain associated with flood survivors providing them necessary succor on the holy occasion," the statement reads.
