Omar Abdullah condemns BJP worker Shabir Ahmad Bhat's murder

Srinagar, Aug 22 (IBNS): Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday condemned the murder of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker Shabir Ahmad Bhat in Pulwama district of the state.

"Very sorry to hear about the killing of the BJP office bearer Shabir Bhat today. My condolences to his family & loved ones with the prayer that he finds his place in Jannat. My unequivocal condemnation of the use of violence to settle political differences," Abdullah tweeted.

Shabir Ahmad Bhat, the dead saffron party worker, was gunned down allgedly by the terrorists at Rakh-e-litter area around 2.30 am.

Police told media that Bhat was kidnapped on Tuesday evening.

A massive man-hunt was launched to track the deceased.

Bhat was the district president of BJP's youth wing, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).
