Narendra Modi arrives in US

New Delhi:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Washington D.C. for his visit to the United States of America at the invitation of President Joe Biden of the USA.

The Prime Minister was received by T. H. Brian McKeon, Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources on behalf of the government of the USA, read a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.

"Exuberant members of Indian diaspora were also present at the Andrews airbase and they cheerfully welcomed Prime Minister," MEA said in a statement.

After meeting the Indian diaspora, Modi tweeted: "Grateful to the Indian community in Washington DC for the warm welcome. Our diaspora is our strength. It is commendable how the Indian diaspora has distinguished itself across the world."

PM Modi is in the US on a four-day visit during which he will attend the first in-person Quad summit on September 24 and address the UN General Assembly in New York on September 25.

He will also hold important bilateral meetings with world leaders.
