Modi attacks Congress on black money issue

| | Nov 25, 2014, at 09:51 pm
Chaibasa, Nov 25 (IBNS): Taking a dig at Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that those who did nothing for 60 years are now asking for NDA's report card, media reported.

Speaking at a election rally in Chaibasa in the poll-bound Jharkhand, an hour before leaving for Kathmandu for SAARC summit, Modi alleged Congress for incompetence at the Centre.

He said, "These people haven't done any work in 60 years, they've looted the country and they're asking me for my six-month report card."

Modi said, "The Congress accuses me of not working. I am willing to give the nation an account of everyday's work."

"...had no right to ask the NDA government for a report card," he added.

The Congress has been demanding Modi-led NDA's report card of  their six-month rule  in the Parliament's winter session that began on Monday.

Opposition attacked the ruling NDA on the black-money issue saying that the Government is not interested in bringing back the black money stashed abroad.

Congress said that during the General election campaign, Modi and BJP has said that if voted to power they will bring the black money back in India within 100 days. But after six-months, nothing has happened.

Congess said that BJP failed to keep their promise and demanded a report card.

BJP has a tie-up with the All Jharkhand Students' Union (AJSU) and the Lok Janshakti Party.

Whereas, the ruling alliance of the Congress and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha broke up in October in the run-up to the elections.

BJP won 12 of the state's 14 Parliamentary seats in the general election in May, is hoping for a majority in Jharkhand.

The first phase of polls--- involving five districts going to polls are Palamau, Gumla, Lohardaga, Chatra, Garhwa and Latehar went underway on Tuesday.
