Mayawati only wants Muslim votes: Yogi Adityanath

Bijnor/Muzaffarnagar Apr 8 (UNI): Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has hit out at BSP president Mayawati for seeking Muslim votes during her rally in Deoband on Sunday.

He also alleged that sons of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Chaudhary Charan Singh were unable to live up to their heritage as one threw the father out from the party and the other left the father's ideology.

“Yesterday, in a rally Mayawati said she wants only Muslim votes, then the other voters will naturally decide where they wish to vote,” he said in series of rallies in west UP on Monday.

CM Yogi said, “In 1946 and 1947, Jogendranath Mandal had betrayed the country by joining Muslim League. For the sake of Dalit-Muslim unity, Mandal partitioned the nation.”

“BJP led government has provided concrete houses, electricity, water supply, toilets, and several amenities without any discrimination of caste and creed,” he said.

While addressing a rally for BJP candidate Sanjeev Baliyan in Muzaffarnagar, he talked about Muzaffarnagar riots and asked, “Where was Chaudhary Ajit Singh when Sachin and Gaurav were murdered?”

Talking about Kanvar yatra, he said that the previous government tried to restrict the yatra but BJP-led government (state and Centre) has facilitated the yatra and ensured Kanvadiyas’ safely. This yatra is dedicated to Lord Shiv, not to corpses.

Calling Gathbandhan rally, ‘drama show’ Yogi said: “Those who didn’t want to see each other’s face are now coming together to stop Modi. The sons of Mulayam Singh and Chaudhary Charan Singh are unable to live up to their legacy."

While addressing a rally in Bijnor, Yogi said, “In 1947, Mahatma Gandhi had said that the Congress tenure has ended and the party should be dissolved.”

He slammed Congress president Rahul Gandhi and general secretary Priyanka Vadra, saying: “Entry of duo has fulfilled the dream of Gandhiji and will lead to the dissolution of the party.”

“During the nomination, Congress has a mindset of hoisting Pakistan’s flag instead of the Tricolor,” Yogi further added while addressing the rally.

Targeting the Congress, Yogi said: “Congress manifesto does not have anything in respect to country’s security."

Talking about Mayawati over the payment of sugarcane farmers, he said, “She doesn’t have the right to speak on the same because during her tenure 21 sugar mills were forced to close. BJP government has paid Rs. 62000 crores in 2 years which also includes the left-over payments of Akhilesh’s and Mayawati’s tenure.”

“Self-respect and honour is the real meaning of Jat. Jats spend their whole life serving the nation, but Chaudhary Ajit Singh and Chaudhary Jayant Singh disrespected them. It is sad to read the statement in which Jayant Chaudhary has said that Jats are not my responsibility,” Yogi said.
On the recently-released BJP manifesto, he said: “BJP will make sincere efforts to build Ram Mandir in a lawful way.”
