Maoists arrest three TDP leaders in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad, Oct 6 (IBNS) Maoists have allegedly kidnapped three Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh, media reports said on Tuesday.

The leaders have been identified as Telugu Desam Mandal party president Mamidi Balayya Padal, senior leader Vandalam Balayya and district committee member Mukkala Mahesh.

According to reports, they were abducted from Kothaguda village.

"On Tuesday morning CPI (Maoist) party east division secretary Kailasam sent a letter demanding that the Government stop bauxite mining plans, withdraw paramilitary forces from the Agency, stop harassing tribals and included some other demands," The Hindu reported.
