Manipur: 9 Assam Rifles troopers injured in twin blast

Guwahati, Feb 6 (IBNS): At least nine troopers of Assam Rifles were injured in twin blast in Manipur’s capital city Imphal on Tuesday evening. 

According to the reports, unidentified miscreants hurled two grenades at the transit camp of Assam Rifles near Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal at around 5-30 pm.

In the grenade blasts, nine security personnel were injured and two are in serious condition.

The injured troopers were immediately shifted to Leimakhong army hospital.

It is second attack on security forces in Manipur in two days.

Meanwhile, top police and army officials rushed to the area and cordoned off the area.

Security forces have launched massive operation at the area to hunt the attackers.

On Monday, two Assam Rifles jawans were injured in the twin blast at Polo ground and BT road area in Imphal.
