Mamata Banerjee promotes road safety campaign on Kolkata roads

Kolkata, Aug 18 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday took part in a rally in Kolkata to promote city police's road safety campaign- Safe Drive Save Life.
Starting from Moulali, the rally concluded at Paddock Ground in Kolkata's downtown Esplanade area.
 
Several ministers, leaders of ruling party, police officials, including Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, and eminent personalities joined the march here to promote government's road safety initiative.
 
Meanwhile, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education has decided to enlist Safe Drive Save Life campaign into syllabus from upcoming academic session, a senior official said.
 
Earlier on Jul 7, Mamata Banerjee launched Safe Drive Save Life campaign during an event, organized by Kolkata Police, and few days later No Helmet No Petrol rule came into effect in the entire state, including Kolkata.
