New Delhi/IBNS: Chief Ministers of West Bengal and Kerala, Mamata Banerjee and Pinarayi Vijayan have condemned the killing of a young tailor in Rajasthan's Udaipur that has triggered shock across the country.

Banerjee tweeted, "Violence and extremism are UNACCEPTABLE, no matter what! I STRONGLY CONDEMN what happened in Udaipur. As law takes its own course of action, I urge everyone to maintain peace."

Vijayan tweeted, "Strongly condemn the barbaric murder in #Udaipur. Request the authorities to take stern action against those responsible. Such heinous acts would only serve to upset our harmonious living. Appeal to everyone to maintain peace and calm and let the law take its course."

A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been sent to Rajasthan's Udaipur where a Hindu tailor was Tuesday beheaded for expressing support for suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nupur Sharma.

The murder was filmed by his killers and the situation sparked massive tension in the city.

According to reports, the murder is being treated as a terror incident and which is why the NIA might be taking to the probe, media reports said.

The police have already arrested two men- attackers Gos Mohammad and Riyaz- in connection with the case.
