Main accused in Patiala clash Barjinder Singh Parwana arrested

Mohali/IBNS: The main accused and key conspirator in the Patiala clash was arrested by the Mohali Police on Sunday morning.

The accused, identified as Barjinder Singh Parwana, was brought from Mumbai by Vistara flight to Mohali airport at 7.20 am.

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Patiala team headed by Inspector Shaminder Singh arrested him at the Mohali airport.

Two communities clashed during an anti-Khalistan protest march in Punjab's Patiala on Friday.

Two people sustained injuries as groups clashed after one tried to stage a march while the other opposed it.

The police had to fire in the air to disperse the crowd.

Members from both sides pelted stones at each other and also brandished swords.

As many as six FIRs were registered and three accused were arrested in connection with the violence, reports said.
