Maha polls: NCP issues ultimatum to Cong over seat sharing

| | Sep 21, 2014, at 05:04 pm
Mumbai, Sept 21 (IBNS): Eyeing the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, the National Congress Party (NCP) has issued an ultimatum to the Congress asking it to decide on the seats in 24 hours, reports said.
While both parties have threatened to fight the elections alone, the Congress reportedly said that they wanted NCP to respond to their offer in two days time.

According to reports, the NCP wants to contest for 144 out of the 288 seats, but the Congress had offered its ally only 124 seats.

Senior NCP leader Praful Patel had rejected the offer.

"The NCP will wait for only one more day for Congress's decision on seat sharing. All options are open to us if the Congress does not respond," Patel was quoted as saying by CNN-IBN channel.

The last date for filing nomination is Sept 27.
