Madhya Pradesh: Pilot dies as two IAF fighter jets crash during training exercise near Gwalior, inquiry ordered

Gwalior: At least one pilot died when two Indian Air Force fighter jets- a Sukhoi Su-30 and a Mirage 2000- crashed during a training exercise close to  Gwalior city in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, officials said.

"Two fighter aircraft of IAF were involved in an accident near Gwalior today morning," the Indian Air Force tweeted.

"The aircraft were on routine operational flying training mission," tweeted the force.

"One of the three pilots involved, sustained fatal injuries," read the tweet.

The Sukhoi had two pilots, while the Mirage had one pilot, defence sources told NDTV.

The IAF said it has launched an inquiry to ascertain the cause of the mishap.
