New Delhi, Mar 29 (IBNS): The Lok Sabha on Wednesday took up discussion and debate on the Goods and Services Tax Bill 2017, with the Union Minister Arun Jaitley apprising the members of the details in the Bill.

The house has kept seven hours for the debate on the Bill.

Veerappa Moily of the Congress opened the debate and began by attacking the various aspects of the Bill, including calling it a technological nightmare.

Kalyan Banerjee of the Trinamool Congress said that it is very important to impart training on the various facets of the Bill before it is implemented, media reported.

The government is keen to begin implementation from July 1 this year.

According to media reports, B Mahtab of the BJD said, "Do not expect too much from GST, only after implementation of one year we'll know the real impact."
