Kolkata, June 7 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was felicitated by the chambers of commerce in Kolkata on Tuesday.

Nine chambers of commerce, including two national industry associations – ASSOCHAM and FICCI, joined the program to felicitate Banerjee whose party scripted victory at the Assembly polls in West Bengal to return to power for the second time in the state.

Speaking at the event, Banerjee said her party's victory in the recent Assembly polls was dedicated to the people of West Bengal.

"This is a victory of democracy, progress and harmony. This is a victory for constructive work. During the last five years, there was a lot of negative publicity. Some people with vested interests carried out negative publicity against Bengal. We worked hard to change the perception of the State," Banerjee said.

Showcasing the performance of her government, the Chief Minister said: "Bengal has the best investor-friendly atmosphere. A lot of positive work has happened. GVA growth of Bengal is 10.48% while that of India is 7.5%. Growth of per capita income in Bengal 12.84% while that of India is 6.1%."

She said her government has doubled revenue in three years.
