Kerala's "Kiss of Love" protests thwarted at the beginning

Kochi, Oct 29 (IBNS): About eight young people, carrying placards, gathered in Kochi in Kerala on Wednesday to publicize a "kiss of love" protest they have planned for Sunday, media reports said.

About 2-3 men suddenly came and torn up the placards saying “kiss of love” protest is a bad precedent and is not safe for their wives and children.

The trio did not say whether they belong to and political party.

Sunday’s rally was designed to stage a protest against the “moral policing” by the right-wing groups.

Last week, a section Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s youth wing members had vandalized a coffee shop in Kozhikode claiming that the cafe was used by young students for dates which they deem unacceptable.
