New Delhi, Jan 27 (IBNS) Replying to Election Commission's notice over his 'bribe' appeal to voters, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal has denied having made such overtures.

Reports said on Tuesday the former Delhi Chief Minister denied that he had violated  the Model Code of Conduct.

Earlier, EC had  sent a notice to the AAP chief allegedly for "abetting and promoting electoral offence of bribery" during electioneering for Delhi Assembly polls. The notice was sent under relevant sections of the Representation of People Act read with provisions of the IPC which bars candidates and political parties from luring voters with some promises.

The move was taken on the basis of complaints that Kejriwal was asking voters to get bribes, thereby violating the concerned rules.

"Do the BJP and Congress come to you with money? If they do, don't say no to them. Take the money. I know they are distributing blankets and sacks of rice as well. Take all of that, but reject liquor as it destroys families," Kejriwal had told people.

He reportedly went on making promises to people once again saying each each household of Delhi would be connected with a water pipeline and free wi-fi facility would be provided in the entire national capital.
