Kashmir’s Sehrish Asgar wins PM's Award for Excellence in Public Administration-2022

Kashmir/IBNS: Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, the Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla, Kashmir, received India's highest award in civil services - The Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration-2022.

This achievement is a remarkable feat for Dr. Asgar and a significant accomplishment for the district and the region as a whole.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions in the Aspirational Districts program, Dr. Sehrish has been chosen for this esteemed award.

Her remarkable efforts have brought about significant improvements in the designated parameters envisioned in the program, leading to transformative changes in the region.

According to the Good Morning Kashmir, suggest that the Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla was recognized by the Prime Minister for her contributions to the Aspirational District Programme, specifically for her efforts in establishing Birth Waiting Wards in Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres, upgrading diagnostic services at all delivery points, and providing Poshan Tracker Tabs for all Anganwadi workers.

Additionally, Dr. Sehrish Asgar supported local farmers by implementing measures such as plant protection, nursery strengthening, robust root stocks, and quality planning material.

She also facilitated the establishment of a marketing facility in Sopore, the second largest Fruit Mandi in Asia, thereby providing valuable support to the agricultural community.

The district has made remarkable progress in addressing malnutrition, with Severe Acute Malnutrition reducing from 3 percent to 0.01 percent, and Moderate Acute Malnutrition decreasing from 11.93 percent to 0.039 percent.

To address the shortage of healthcare professionals, a two-year paramedical diploma course has been introduced to provide training to 300 students from border areas.

In addition, the district has made significant strides in financial inclusion by opening 56,215 PM Jan Dhan Yojana accounts.

Dr. Syed Sehrish's achievements have received widespread recognition from various stakeholders, including the Lieutenant Governor, who have extended their warm appreciation and felicitations.
